VOLUNTEER

C.A.M.P. offers a unique opportunity to the citizens of southwest Cobb and east Douglas Counties to enrich the lives of others while enriching their own. In addition to providing a place to meet new people and make new friends, our volunteers discover the personal rewards of sharing their gifts and talents, their expertise and experience.

Individuals, churches, and corporate or civic organizations are welcome. Our friendly staff, dedicated mission, and easily accessible location makes C.A.M.P. the perfect place to share as well as receive.  We invite you to tour our facility and see the ongoing work in our community, by our community and for our community.  We are open for tours and volunteering from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except on holidays.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

FOOD PANTRY volunteers keep our pantry shelves stocked, and pull food orders for our clients.

CLOTHES CLOSET volunteers help our clients with clothing selections, sort incoming donations, sort and package school supplies, hygiene products, and other miscellaneous items.

CLIENT RECEPTION volunteers assist our intake services staff with greeting and determining available resources for clients.

SPECIAL EVENT COORDINATION volunteers are always needed to help us with our fund raising and other events throughout the year.  If you have expertise and a desire to serve in this area, we will find a project for you.

SPECIAL GIFT & HOLIDAY PROGRAM volunteers are needed to sort and assemble donated items for our annual Easter baskets, Christmas toys, back-to-school supplies, newborn baby layettes, and our Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets.

IN-KIND DONATION DRIVES help us to supply our clients with basic necessities such as diapers, toiletries, sheets and towels, and winter coats.  Drives for items like canned meats, rice and dried beans help us to provide emergency boxes of food to clients who have immediate needs.  If you are part of a large group that wants to serve with us, off-site drives are a great way to involve everyone.  Before or after the drive, bring your group to C.A.M.P. and take a tour of our facility so that we can show you how your contribution helps our mission.
