Back
to School Program
Each year children are registered six weeks before
school starts to supply them with new
back-to-school essentials.
Each child receives new shoes, socks,
underwear, jeans, shirt, back-pack, school
supplies and health/hygiene items to begin the new
school year.
Studies show that children with new
back-to-school outfits will look forward to
returning to school and perform at a higher level.
Easter
Program
Children ages 2 through 7 are registered to
receive Easter baskets.
The families receive one dozen fresh eggs
and food coloring for the children to color eggs.
In addition each child receives printed
materials on the true meaning of Easter and the
resurrection.
Christmas
Program
Sweetwater Valley C. A. M. P. is
dedicated to making sure that Christmas morning is
a happy time for some 250 South Cobb children
pre-registered to receive toys each year at
Christmas. Parents get the opportunity to
personally choose from a wide variety of new toys
in our special projects room.
Christmas
food boxes are given out each year to 200 local
families. The
boxes are requested by local schools and churches
for families they know to have an immediate need.
SVCAMP fills the boxes and delivers them to
the schools and churches for distribution.
Newborn Baby Program
Expecting mothers can register to receive a new baby layette
when their baby is born.
The layette contains new clothing, new baby
care items, and a special hand made baby afghan to
welcome the new child.
COMMUNITY
WORSHIP
Good
Friday Service
Each year Sweetwater Valley C. A. M. P.
sponsors a community-wide Good Friday worship
service at the Austell Presbyterian Church, 5895
Love Street.
This is a moving and inspirational service
scheduled at the traditional hours of 12 noon
until 3:00 P.M.
Seven different pastors from seven local
churches come together, each one preaching on one
of the seven words Jesus spoke from the cross.
The service is formatted to contain special
music and traditional hymns between speakers
allowing worshipers the flexibility to come and go
during the service as their personal time permits.
Once you have participated in this
memorable community service it will quickly become
an Easter tradition.
Thanksgiving
Eve Service
Sweetwater Valley C.A.M.P. sponsors a
community-wide worship service on Thanksgiving
Eve. This
worship service is held at a different hosting
church each year. What a wonderful way to begin your Thanksgiving celebrations
with a community of caring and dedicated
neighbors.
